In response to escalating tensions in West Asia, over 1,000 Indians evacuated successfully who were stranded in Doha. The operation, conducted over the past three days, was facilitated by Qatar Airways, which organized special flights to New Delhi. The Indian Embassy in Doha confirmed these details on March 9, 2026.

A flight operated by Qatar Airways on March 9, 2026, carried more than 300 Indian passengers back to India. The Embassy expressed gratitude towards Qatar Airways for their cooperation, highlighting the repatriation of a deceased Indian national’s remains on humanitarian grounds.

The Embassy also announced plans for additional flights to Delhi, Mumbai, and Kochi on March 10, urging stranded nationals to avail themselves of these opportunities. Furthermore, the Embassy has been coordinating with Qatari and Saudi authorities to facilitate travel for Indians holding Saudi visas via the Salwa border crossing.

In light of the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, the Indian community in Qatar has been advised to adhere to safety guidelines issued by Qatar’s Ministry of Interior. Social media usage should be cautious, and reliance on verified information is encouraged to avoid misinformation.

The geopolitical situation remains tense, and India continues to monitor developments closely. Future repatriation efforts and diplomatic engagements are expected as the situation evolves.
