Amid escalating tensions in the region, over 10,600 Pakistani nationals have returned from Iran, marking a significant movement across the Taftan Border Crossing. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has enhanced its border and immigration operations to manage this influx effectively.
From February 28 to April 8, 2026, a total of 10,619 passengers, primarily Pakistanis returns including students and pilgrims, have crossed back into Pakistan. The return is largely attributed to the evolving security situation in Iran, prompting many to leave the neighboring country.
FIA officials have ensured that immigration staff are working around the clock at Taftan to facilitate swift processing and proper documentation of all incoming passengers. Authorities emphasize the importance of maintaining strict security and immigration protocols, with continuous coordination among federal and provincial departments to handle the steady inflow.
The Taftan border, located in Chagai District, serves as a crucial point for cross-border movement and trade between Pakistan and Iran. Despite regional challenges, operations continue without interruption, underscoring the FIA’s commitment to secure, orderly, and humane border management.
Looking forward, the FIA remains dedicated to assisting Pakistani citizens and other travelers entering the country, ensuring that all procedures are conducted smoothly and efficiently during this period of heightened regional tension.
