Several pallets of packaged goods wrapped in plastic are relief shipment to Gaza.

On August 3, 2025, Pakistan dispatched its 17th relief shipment to Gaza and other parts of Palestine, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). This continued aid effort follows direct instructions from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza deepens under Israel’s ongoing blockade.

Details of Latest Relief Shipment to Gaza

The latest shipment includes 100 tonnes of food and medicines, departing from Islamabad International Airport to Amman, Jordan, via a special flight. A second consignment of another 100 tonnes is scheduled to depart on Monday, bringing the total for this phase to 200 tonnes.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and NDMA Chairman Lt. General Inam Haider Malik attended the send-off ceremony, underscoring Pakistan’s sustained commitment to supporting the people of Palestine.

To date, Pakistan has delivered 1,715 tonnes of relief goods to Gaza since the beginning of its emergency aid program.

Situation of Gaza

Meanwhile, the situation on the ground in western Gaza City remains dire. A recent UN report describes heartbreaking scenes of hunger and desperation — families forced to survive on lentil soup, children fainting from malnutrition, and elderly residents like Ziad Al-Ghariz reporting they haven’t had bread in over 10 days. Others, like young Mohammed Nayfeh, queue for hours in the blazing heat without managing to get food.

Umm Muhammad, a displaced woman from Shujaiya, said: “There’s no water, no food, no bread. We either return burned under the sun or trampled by crowds — and we return empty-handed.”

These testimonies highlight the catastrophic impact of the siege, with global monitors calling for immediate action to avert widespread famine in Gaza.

More Efforts

The government of Pakistan has also launched the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon, urging citizens to donate in solidarity with Palestinians suffering under siege.
