The Pakistan embassy Abu Dhabi has temporarily suspended in-person consular services starting March 4, 2026, due to the evolving regional situation. This decision aligns with an advisory from the UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, which recommended remote work to ensure safety amid escalating tensions.
The Embassy’s circular emphasized the precautionary nature of this measure, prioritizing the safety of community members and staff. Pakistani nationals in the UAE have been urged to adhere to local authorities’ instructions and remain informed through official channels.
This development occurs amidst heightened tensions in the Middle East following joint military strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran. Iranian retaliation has included strikes on US bases in the region, escalating the crisis further.
The crisis intensified after the confirmed death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a joint US-Israel operation. Attacks have resulted in significant casualties, including the death of a Pakistani national in the UAE.
The situation remains volatile, with the Pakistani Foreign Office activating its Crisis Management Unit and issuing advisories for nationals in the region. Further updates on consular services will be communicated through official channels.
