On March 14, 2026, Pakistan’s Information Ministry dismissed claims by the Afghan Taliban of capturing a Pakistani military post as false and misleading. The ministry’s fact-checking account on X shared evidence refuting the Taliban’s assertion that a military checkpost had been seized and 14 soldiers killed.
The ministry emphasized the lack of credible evidence supporting the Taliban’s claims, labeling them as part of a pattern of propaganda. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated that the Taliban’s assertions were baseless and aimed at deceiving the Afghan public.
The statement also highlighted the ongoing efforts by Pakistan to counter terrorism, including targeted operations against the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and their affiliates. The ministry noted that all damages and losses by these groups were documented with irrefutable evidence.
Prime Minister’s spokesperson, Mosharraf Zaidi, criticized the Afghan Taliban for prioritizing propaganda over addressing terrorist organizations like the TTP and BLA within their borders. He affirmed that Pakistan’s counterterrorism operations would continue unabated.
