Pakistan mediates Iran US Talks: Pakistan has urged the media to refrain from speculating about the schedule for the next round of US-Iran negotiations, emphasizing that the dates have not been finalized. Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andarabi highlighted the importance of trust and confidentiality in diplomatic engagements during a weekly briefing.

The discussions, which could resume in Islamabad later this week, follow the inaugural talks that ended inconclusively but were seen as a step forward in direct communication between the US and Iran. US President Donald Trump hinted at the possibility of talks resuming soon in Pakistan.

The previous meeting, held on April 11, was the first high-level encounter between American and Iranian officials in decades, focusing on critical issues such as the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s nuclear program, and international sanctions.

Despite the lack of a formal agreement, the prolonged discussions underscored the commitment of both parties to engage constructively. The negotiations also involved US Vice President JD Vance and Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.

Pakistan’s mediation efforts have been praised internationally, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif noting the ongoing diplomatic engagements aimed at bridging differences. The talks are part of a broader peace process in the Middle East, with Pakistan maintaining open communication channels and coordinating with global leaders.
