The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of Pakistan’s federal cabinet has sanctioned a Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs2.8 billion to bolster child vaccination efforts. This decision, made during a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, is a significant step toward enhancing the country’s healthcare infrastructure.
The approved funds will be directed to the Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI), a pivotal program targeting the immunization of over eight million children against various vaccine-preventable diseases. This initiative will facilitate the continued pooled procurement of vaccines, syringes, and Cold Chain Equipment Optimization Platform (CCEOP) in collaboration with provincial authorities.
This strategic funding comes at a critical time, as Pakistan intensifies its efforts to improve public health outcomes and meet international health standards. The ECC’s decision reflects a commitment to safeguarding the nation’s future through robust health initiatives.
Looking forward, this grant is expected to streamline vaccination processes and enhance the efficiency of immunization campaigns across the country. The impact of this funding will be closely monitored, with further evaluations scheduled to ensure ongoing success.
