Macron India visit 2026: French President Emmanuel Macron is set to visit India from February 17 to 19, 2026, aiming to strengthen bilateral cooperation and participate in the AI Impact Summit. The visit will commence in Mumbai, where Macron will engage in discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They will jointly inaugurate the India-France Year of Innovation, a year-long celebration aimed at enhancing innovation across various sectors.

France remains one of India’s closest strategic partners in Europe, providing key defense equipment such as Rafale combat jets and Scorpene submarines. Macron’s visit follows Modi’s trip to France in February 2025, highlighting the mutual trust and depth of the India-France strategic partnership, as noted by the external affairs ministry.

The substantial meeting between Modi and Macron will focus on strengthening cooperation in line with the Horizon 2047 roadmap. Their discussions will cover regional and global issues, including Indo-Pacific cooperation, reflecting shared interests.

Following the engagements in Mumbai, Macron will attend the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi on February 19. This visit marks Macron as the second world leader to be hosted by Modi in Mumbai after UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The bilateral Year of Innovation will focus on collaborative events across culture, trade, and technology, reinforcing the Horizon 2047 roadmap.
