According to the NIA, the duo provided food, shelter in a seasonal hut, and logistical assistance to the attackers before the assault. During questioning, the suspects reportedly revealed the identities of the three perpetrators, confirming their Pakistani nationality.

The Pahalgam attack heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, leading to cross-border military actions in May 2025. India conducted airstrikes targeting militant camps in Pakistan, while Pakistan retaliated with its own operation. The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) condemned the attack, noting that such acts require significant funding and coordination.
