India is set to unveil its first quantum computing test beds in Amaravati on April 14, 2026, coinciding with World Quantum Day. This initiative marks a significant technological advancement for the country, as stated by P.S. Pradyumna, Secretary to the Chief Minister.

The two quantum computing test beds will be located at SRM University-A.P. and Medha Towers in Amaravati. These facilities will serve as benchmarks for testing various components of the quantum computing ecosystem, a first for India, as highlighted by Mr. Pradyumna.

This development is a result of the proactive efforts by the Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, to foster technological innovation. Until now, India lacked a dedicated quantum testing facility, which is crucial for advancing the nation’s capabilities in this cutting-edge field.

Looking ahead, the establishment of these test beds is expected to position India as a leader in quantum technology, potentially attracting international collaboration and investment. This move could pave the way for further advancements and set a precedent for future technological endeavors in the region.
