Masoud Pezeshkian to Visit Pakistan for Stronger Ties

The visit reflects a continued push for stronger ties following PM Shehbaz’s trip to Iran on May 26, 2025, when he met both Pezeshkian and other Iranian leaders in Tehran. That visit aimed to boost regional cooperation and express gratitude for Iran’s diplomatic support amid recent tensions with India.

According to Iran’s IRNA news agency, Pezeshkian’s trip will also involve meetings with Pakistani cultural and commercial stakeholders. The President is expected to begin his visit in Lahore, where he’ll pay respects at the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal, before continuing to Islamabad.

Experts say this visit could signal renewed momentum in Pakistan-Iran relations, especially with regional dynamics rapidly shifting. Pezeshkian is the second Iranian president in two years to visit Pakistan, underscoring both sides’ commitment to diplomacy and economic collaboration.
