Over 300 Afghan students have recently arrived in Pakistan to pursue higher education under the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships Programme, an initiative led by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. This program, designed to strengthen educational ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan, offers fully funded scholarships for Afghan students to study in fields such as medicine, engineering, business, and social sciences at top Pakistani universities.

The initiative reflects Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Afghanistan’s youth by providing access to quality education. The students, selected through a merit-based process, will benefit from tuition-free programs, accommodation, and stipends to ease their transition into academic life. This phase marks the third cohort of the scholarship program, which has already supported hundreds of Afghan students in achieving their academic aspirations.

The program not only fosters academic growth but also promotes cross-cultural understanding between the two nations. By equipping Afghan students with skills and knowledge, the initiative aims to contribute to Afghanistan’s development and regional cooperation. Posts on X highlight the warm reception of the students and the enthusiasm surrounding this educational exchange, emphasizing its role in building a brighter future for Afghan youth.
