Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will travel to Jeddah on February 26, 2026, to participate in an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Executive Committee. The meeting, held at the Foreign Ministers’ level, aims to address recent developments in the Middle East and Israel’s actions in Palestine.
Diplomatic sources reveal that the session will strongly condemn Israel’s recent decision to declare lands in the occupied West Bank as illegal Israeli property. Muslim countries are expected to collectively denounce Israel’s legal, political, and demographic changes in the occupied Palestinian areas.
Dar is anticipated to deliver a strong condemnation of Israel’s unlawful decisions and policies on behalf of Pakistan. Participating nations will discuss a coordinated strategy to oppose Israeli measures. During his visit, Dar is also expected to meet with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and other key leaders.
Israel’s actions have escalated tensions in the region, with continued expansion of illegal settlements and displacement of Palestinian families. These actions are widely condemned as violations of international law, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis and fueling instability.
The meeting in Jeddah will focus on strategies to counter Israel’s policies and explore avenues for peace and justice in the region. As the situation evolves, further diplomatic engagements are anticipated.
