Pakistan Airspace: The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has confirmed that the country’s airspace is fully operational, countering recent misleading reports suggesting partial closures. This announcement was made on March 3, 2026, following media claims of restricted airspace for commercial flights.

According to the PAA, the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) A0134/26 does not indicate any shutdown but highlights temporary unavailability of specific Air Traffic Service (ATS) routes. These routes, located within the Karachi and Lahore Flight Information Regions, are affected daily between 9 AM and 3 PM.

The PAA emphasized that alternative routes and airports remain available, ensuring all scheduled commercial flights, including arrivals, departures, and overflights, operate normally. The authority urged the public to rely on official sources to avoid unnecessary concerns.

The PAA’s clarification comes in response to reports of over 500 flight cancellations and disruptions in air cargo services due to alleged airspace restrictions. These claims were linked to the evolving regional situation and were widely circulated by media outlets.

Looking ahead, the PAA remains committed to maintaining safe and efficient aviation operations across Pakistan, despite ongoing regional challenges. Officials continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure minimal disruption to air travel.
