Pakistan has deployed fighter jets and military forces to Saudi Arabia, strengthening security under a defense pact between the two nations, announced the Saudi defense ministry on April 11, 2026. This move coincides with Islamabad’s diplomatic efforts to mediate the Iran conflict.
The defense agreement, signed in September 2025, obligates both countries to consider an attack on one as an attack on both, thereby intensifying their longstanding security alliance.
According to a statement from Saudi Arabia’s defense ministry, the Pakistani aircraft reached King Abdulaziz Air Base in the eastern province, aiming to bolster joint defense collaboration and support both regional and international stability.
Historically, Pakistan has provided military assistance to Saudi Arabia, including training and advisory roles, while Saudi Arabia has frequently offered financial aid to Pakistan during economic challenges.
On April 10, 2026, Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan visited Pakistan to reaffirm economic support. In 2018, Saudi Arabia announced a $6 billion support package for Pakistan, including significant financial deposits and deferred oil payments.
