Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have expressed deep concern over the recent ceasefire violations in Lebanon. This was discussed during a telephone conversation on April 9, 2026, between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.

During the call, both leaders underscored the urgent necessity for the full respect and implementation of the ceasefire agreement to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region. Ishaq Dar appreciated Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s peace initiatives.

In another related development, Foreign Minister Dar engaged in a telephonic discussion with Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov. Saidov commended Pakistan’s leadership and assured Uzbekistan’s full backing for Pakistan’s efforts to secure a two-week ceasefire, highlighting the importance of continued diplomatic engagements.

Earlier in the week, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong also lauded Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and security in the Middle East during a meeting with Dar. The ongoing dialogues signal a concerted effort by Pakistan to foster regional harmony.
