Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, is scheduled to visit Kabul on July 17, 2025, for the signing of a framework agreement on a joint feasibility study for the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (UAP) Railway Project.

The visit will involve trilateral meetings between senior officials from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan, aimed at advancing the proposed railway that seeks to connect Central and South Asia via Afghanistan. The project, once completed, is expected to lower trade costs, boost regional connectivity, and provide Afghanistan with vital access to seaports.

The feasibility study will assess the technical and financial aspects of the route. Officials are also expected to hold bilateral and trilateral discussions on economic cooperation, trade facilitation, and broader regional issues.

Posts on X (formerly Twitter) describe the upcoming visit as a major diplomatic step, highlighting its importance for infrastructure-led economic recovery and long-term integration in the region.
