Two Russian navy ships, Rezkiy and Sovershennyy, arrived at Chittagong on March 24, 2026, marking the start of a four-day goodwill visit to Bangladesh.
The ships were received by the Chief Staff Officer of the Commander Chittagong Naval Area and senior naval officials. The Russian Deputy Ambassador, along with military, air, and naval attachés, attended the welcoming ceremony.
The Bangladesh Navy ship BNS Omar Faruk formally greeted the vessels as they entered Bangladesh’s maritime boundary, underscoring the significance of the visit.
During their stay, the Russian delegation, including the commanding officers, is scheduled to meet with key Bangladeshi naval and port officials. They will also pay respects at the grave of Russian sailor UV Redkin at Redkin Point.
The visit aims to enhance professional exchanges and strengthen mutual cooperation between the navies, further deepening the friendly bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Russia. The ships will depart on March 27, 2026.
