Turkish Armed Forces General Meets Pakistan Navy Chief

General Levent Ergün, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, visited the Naval Headquarters in Islamabad on April 7, 2026, where he met with Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf. The meeting was confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Upon his arrival, General Ergün was warmly received by Admiral Ashraf. During their discussions, they addressed professional matters of mutual interest, particularly focusing on the regional maritime security environment influenced by the ongoing Israel-US-Iran conflict and the prospects for bilateral defense collaboration.

Both military leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening military cooperation between Turkey and Pakistan. They highlighted the need for enhanced training programs and joint military exercises to bolster their defense capabilities.

Historically, Turkey and Pakistan have maintained strong military ties, often engaging in joint exercises and defense dialogues. This visit signifies a continued commitment to deepening these relations amidst evolving regional dynamics.
