Brazilian President Lula da Silva is scheduled for a state visit to India from February 18 to 22, 2026. During this visit, he will participate in the 2nd AI Summit in Delhi from February 19 to 20, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs. This visit, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marks a significant step in strengthening the bilateral relations between Brazil and India.
The visit will include bilateral engagements on February 21, the main day of the official state visit. President Lula will be hosted by India’s President and will meet with the Vice President and other key dignitaries. A business delegation will accompany President Lula, aiming to explore trade and investment opportunities in India.
The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) has accredited nearly 150 private-sector representatives to join the delegation, reflecting strong corporate interest in the Indian market. This visit is part of Brazil’s strategy to reduce dependence on traditional partners such as the US and China, while increasing engagement with emerging economies like India.
This visit is anticipated to pave the way for future collaborations in technology and business, enhancing the strategic partnership between the two nations. Further details about other leaders attending the AI Summit will be announced later, highlighting the global significance of this event.
