Zardari Strengthens Industrial Ties with China

PakistanPresident Asif Ali Zardari, during his visit to China on April 27, 2026, emphasized the importance of bolstering industrial cooperation between Pakistan and China. His week-long tour included significant engagements with key industrial leaders in Hunan Province.

Zardari visited the SANY Heavy Industry complex in Changsha, where he was welcomed by SANY Group Chairman Tang Xiuguo. The visit focused on exploring cooperation opportunities in engineering and construction machinery, technology transfer, and investment prospects.

Officials highlighted SANY’s financial achievements, noting an operating revenue of $11.27 billion in 2024, underpinned by robust investment in research and development. The president lauded SANY’s advanced manufacturing systems and its commitment to modernization and efficiency.

The president also visited Hunan Tea Group Co, Ltd, where he was briefed on its integrated operations spanning cultivation to international marketing. Zardari invited the Group to explore collaboration with Pakistan in agro-processing and export development.

In meetings with Hunan Province Party Secretary Shen Xiaoming and Governor Mao Weiming, Zardari discussed advancing cooperation in agriculture, health, education, and trade, reaffirming the enduring strength of Pakistan-China relations. The discussions also touched on Hunan’s contributions to the development of CPEC 2.0.

Zardari underscored the potential for expanding bilateral trade in agricultural machinery and technology, expressing interest in closer collaboration in seed technology and modern farming practices. The visit marked a significant step in enhancing Pakistan-China ties.
