In anticipation of the Chitra Pournami festival, over 5,000 police personnel will be deployed in Tiruvannamalai to ensure security. The festival is scheduled for April 30 and May 1, drawing significant attention to the region.

The deployment includes two Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) and ten Superintendents of Police (SPs), highlighting the importance of the event. S. Selva Balaji, Commissioner of Tiruvannamalai Corporation, and Collector K. Tharpagaraj, conducted inspections of Mada Streets around the Arunachaleshwara temple to oversee preparations.

Historically, Chitra Pournami is a major festival celebrated in Tamil Nadu, attracting thousands of devotees. This year’s security measures reflect the increased focus on maintaining public safety amid large gatherings.
