India-Sri Lanka partnership: Both Countries have reinforced their maritime collaboration through the fourth edition of the bilateral diving exercise, IN-SLN DIVEX 2026, conducted in Colombo from April 21 to 28, 2026. The exercise underscores the growing strategic ties between the two nations, focusing on enhancing maritime security and operational coordination.

The Indian Navy participated with its Diving Support and Submarine Rescue Vessel, INS Nireekshak, while the Sri Lankan Navy contributed its specialized diving teams. This collaboration aimed to boost professional synergy and ensure preparedness for underwater missions, reflecting the commitment of both navies to regional stability.

Historically, India and Sri Lanka have shared strong maritime ties, with previous exercises and agreements laying the groundwork for this latest endeavor. The IN-SLN DIVEX series has been instrumental in fostering mutual understanding and operational readiness.
