On May 7, 2026, Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Scheduled Castes member Ravada Seetharam ordered the removal of encroachments on Dalit lands and graveyards belonging to Dalit communities in the Rajam constituency.

Seetharam held a high-level meeting in Rajam with Cheepurupalli Revenue Divisional Officer Sudha Rani and tahsildars of eight mandals. He received 45 complaints from villagers and directed officials to verify and address these grievances.

The Rajam municipal authorities were instructed to allocate 22% of works to societies belonging to Scheduled Castes. Seetharam emphasized the importance of justice for the petitioners.

A consolidated report of field visits and review meetings will be submitted to K. S. Jawahar, chairperson of the Commission, for further action. This move aims to protect Dalit rights and ensure fair resource allocation.
