Pakistan-Qatar Dialogue: On May 10, 2026, Pakistan and Qatar reiterated their commitment to supporting ongoing efforts for lasting peace and constructive dialogue in the Middle East. This affirmation was made during a telephone conversation between Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

During the call, both leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and ongoing peace initiatives. Prime Minister Sharif expressed appreciation to Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his leadership and support for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts.

The conversation underscored the importance of constructive engagement by all parties to ensure the success of peace efforts. Prime Minister Sharif also looked forward to the upcoming visit of the Qatari Emir to Pakistan, which is expected to strengthen bilateral ties.

This dialogue comes amid Pakistan’s role as a mediator in easing tensions in the Middle East, following the US-Israel attacks on Iran earlier this year. Despite a temporary ceasefire, efforts to reach a permanent peace agreement remain ongoing.
