The UAE remittances have become the largest source to Pakistan for the month of February 2026, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan. Overseas Pakistanis residing in the UAE sent approximately $696 million during this period, surpassing the remittance inflows from Saudi Arabia, which totaled $685.5 million.

Overall, remittances to Pakistan were recorded at $3.29 billion in February, a slight decrease from January’s $3.46 billion, but a 5.2% increase compared to the same month last year. Within the UAE, the majority of remittances originated from Dubai, contributing about $566 million, followed by Abu Dhabi with $102 million and Sharjah with $12 million.

Following the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and the United States were significant contributors, with remittances amounting to $532 million and $319 million, respectively. Other Gulf countries, including Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain, collectively sent approximately $317 million.

Historically, remittances have been a vital source of foreign exchange for Pakistan, supporting the country’s balance of payments and economic stability. The shift in remittance patterns highlights the UAE’s growing economic ties with Pakistan.

Looking ahead, the remittance trends are expected to continue evolving, with potential implications for Pakistan’s economic policies and bilateral relations with Gulf countries.
