Bilawal Bhutto on 27th Constitutional Amendment

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has dismissed recent speculation about a potential 27th Constitutional Amendment as “baseless rumours.” Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Bilawal clarified that no federal minister, prime minister, or party member had approached him regarding any such legislation.

Despite ongoing discussions within the ruling PML-N and legal circles about further judicial reforms, Bilawal emphasized that the 26th Amendment had already introduced significant changes to the judiciary. He noted that the PPP had compromised on its demand for constitutional courts to reach a consensus, opting instead for a constitutional bench.

Addressing concerns about the National Finance Commission (NFC) award, Bilawal advocated for a new award to reflect the increased responsibilities of provinces following the 18th Amendment. He stressed the need for equitable resource distribution among provinces.
