Bangladesh’s energy sector remains stable as the country faces global tensions, according to Energy Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood Tuku. Speaking on March 7, 2026, he assured that Bangladesh has no fuel shortage, with two shipments scheduled to arrive at the country’s ports on Monday.

During a press briefing at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon, Tuku emphasized the importance of careful planning and management amid ongoing global conflicts. He assured that fuel prices would remain unchanged for the time being.
Tuku highlighted the introduction of a rationing system as a precautionary measure to ensure sufficient reserves. He noted that some citizens have started storing fuel in advance, urging them to refrain from panic buying.
The government has implemented mobile courts to monitor petrol pump operations starting Sunday to prevent distribution irregularities. State Minister Anindya Islam Amit and other officials were present during the briefing.
