Pakistan and China Forge New MoUs in Key Sectors

On May 1, 2026, Pakistan and China signed several significant MoUs and agreements in Sanya, enhancing bilateral cooperation in key sectors such as construction machinery, animal vaccines, and medical technology. The ceremony, attended by President Asif Ali Zardari, marked a pivotal moment in the long-standing partnership between the two nations.

The signing event was graced by notable figures including Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Chief Secretary Sindh Ali Hassan Brohi, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi. A documentary celebrating 75 years of Pakistan-China friendship was also showcased.

Among the agreements, an MoU was signed between Al-Hassan Trade Establishment, Sany International Development, and Henan Jialong International Technology, focusing on the supply of construction machinery for CPEC projects. This collaboration aims to explore investment opportunities for establishing manufacturing facilities in Pakistan.

Additionally, a joint venture agreement was signed between the Livestock & Fisheries Department of Sindh and Luoyang Modern Biology Group, China. This agreement, signed by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and Chairman Wang Shanpu, focuses on improving animal health services and implementing modern biological solutions.

In the medical technology sector, an MoU between Ziauddin Hospital and Shenzhen Weibang Technology was established to promote AI-based medical robots in clinical medicine. This agreement aims to advance Pakistan’s medical technology infrastructure significantly.

These agreements are part of President Zardari’s week-long visit to China, emphasizing the importance of expanding collaboration with China in industrial sectors. The visit underscores a strategic vision of strengthening economic and trade ties, with future cooperation expected to yield substantial benefits.
