Pakistan and Argentina are in discussions to enhance football cooperation, including the possibility of an international friendly match between their national teams. The talks, which took place during an online meeting, involved the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) and the Argentine Football Association (AFA).

During the discussions, both parties explored various avenues for cooperation. These included coaching development, technical training programs, and the potential for Argentinian coaches to visit Pakistan as part of a structured development initiative. The meeting was described as productive and forward-looking by officials involved.

The meeting was coordinated by Pakistan’s mission in Argentina and chaired by Ambassador Hassan Afzal Khan. It featured participation from PFF President Syed Mohsin Gilani and AFA Marketing Director Francisco Lemmi. This initiative follows the recent launch of the ‘AFA Pakistan’ brand, signaling Argentina’s interest in engaging with Pakistan’s football ecosystem.

Ambassador Hassan highlighted the opportunity to strengthen collaboration and contribute to the growth of football in Pakistan. PFF President Gilani emphasized the importance of developing this partnership in a sustainable manner for long-term mutual benefit.

If successful, the proposed friendly match would occur after the FIFA World Cup. Both federations are continuing to work on logistical and technical details before any formal agreement is reached. The engagement is seen as a promising step towards international collaboration in sports development.
