On April 29, 2026, Pakistan’s military forces executed a series of strategic strikes in response to aggression from Afghan Taliban forces along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The operation, known as Ghazab Lil Haq, was launched following unprovoked attacks by Afghan forces, according to security sources.

The strikes focused on the Chaman area, where several Afghan Taliban posts and vehicles were targeted and destroyed. This decisive military action was intended to compel Afghan Taliban fighters and their affiliates to withdraw from their positions, thereby reinforcing Pakistan’s border security.

Security sources emphasized that the operation demonstrates Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to defending its territorial integrity. The military action will continue until all objectives of Operation Ghazab Lil Haq are achieved, ensuring a robust response to any further cross-border aggression.

The current escalation follows a history of tensions between the two nations, marked by repeated exchanges of fire and retaliatory actions. In mid-April, Afghan shelling resulted in civilian casualties in Pakistan’s Bajaur district, prompting the latest series of strikes.

Pakistan’s military strategy also included air strikes in Afghanistan’s Laghman province, targeting key military installations and depots. The ongoing conflict has led to significant casualties and infrastructure damage on both sides, with diplomatic relations remaining strained.
