He specified that the Kingdom is looking closely at opportunities in processed food, seafood, tropical fruits, and agro-based industries. The strength of Bangladesh-Saudi Arabia relations has long been anchored in the contribution of Bangladeshi workers to the Saudi economy, and the deputy foreign minister took time to acknowledge this during the meeting. Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr Abdullah bin Abiyah was also present, alongside senior officials representing the Saudi Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior.
On the Bangladesh side, the delegation featured Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed, and the prime minister’s adviser on foreign affairs, Humaiun Kobir. The scale and seniority of both delegations underlined the importance both governments placed on this round of talks.
